European Parliament and the Council has adopted Directive that requires user consent to internet cookies. Directive will be in force across the European Union within 18 months.

Today Saeima (Parliament of Latvia) adopted amendments in Law on traffic forbidding residents of Latvia to drive vehicles registered in other countries. On Saturday, August 2, Latvia hold a referendum on amendments to the Constitution to give people the right to dissolve Parliament. Parliament of Latvia is going to prolong ombudsman's term of service from 4 years to 5. Changes in term would take effect with year 2010 when next ombudsman takes his post.
